Identity Verification
In order to process your claim we need to verify your identity. You will be asked to provide a digital copy or picture of your valid government identification.
Examples of these documents are:
 

  • Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent)
  • U.S. passport. or U.S. passport card
  • DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
  • U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents
  • Permanent resident card
  • Federally recognized, tribal-issued photo ID
  • HSPD-12 PIV card
  • U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766)
  • U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential


The LWC strongly encourages you to select direct deposit as your payment method.   A debit card could take as long as 10 days to be processed, mailed, and received.
 


We can help you find a job and file for unemployment. To file for unemployment:

  • You must be no longer working through no fault of your own, or
  • Your work hours must have been reduced

This site will help you:

  • Search for jobs
  • Create a resume
  • Learn about training opportunities
  • File a new claim
  • File an additional claim
  • Reopen a claim


To register, you will need the following information:

  • Your Social Security number
  • The name, address, and telephone number of any place you have worked in the last 24 months (this information must be entered exactly as it appears on your check stub)
  • The name and local number of your union hall, if applicable
  • Your Alien Registration number, if you are not a U.S. citizen
  • Valid e-mail address

After you file your unemployment claim, you will be given a list of available jobs in your area that match your skills and experience.

IMPORTANT
If filing a new claim and electing debit card option, it will arrive to the address provided. If you need a replacement debit card, please call U.S. Bank at 1-855-282-6161 or 1-855-274-0354. Please be sure that we have your current address on file. If you need to update your address, you can do so in HiRE by going to My Personal Profile on your dashboard page and clicking Update Contact Information.
